The authors consider methods of improving the utilization of the survival space between the front seat passenger and the frontal part of the interior of the vehicle. A better distribution of the deceleration forces on the occupant by means of an improved belt and seat which can pivot transversally on its base and is fitted with a rotating shock absorber, is proposed.
