This document compiles the various addresses and summarises the discussions which were made during the International OECD Seminar on the Development and Evaluation of Road Transport Research Programmes held in Lyon and Annecy, October 21st to 25th, 1996, (OCDE/RTR/RP6). The various sessions have been devoted to the problems bound to the development of research programmes, their pre-evaluation as well as that of projects, the implementation of research programmes and their evaluation in the course of their progress, their a-posteriori evaluation - including their long-term evaluation -, and international co-operation or public/private partnerships. The outcomes of this Seminar are presented in order to be used as a guide for the development and mainly for the evaluation of the road and road transport research programmes. (A)
