Origin and destination survey by registration number method.

A registration number survey in Swansea is described. Two survey stations were set up at each of 10 cordon crossing points, manned by observers using twin- track tape recorders. The coding of this information and its analysis by computer program is described, and some of the lessons learned from this survey method are discussed.
