Samenvatting
This report gives a review of the research programme "enquiries at the scene of accidents" and "local studies of pedestrian and cyclist accidents" from the point of view of working method and organisation, data structure, results and problems. The publications produced treat the analysis of causes, the pattern and results of actual traffic accidents from the medical, technical and psychological viewpoint. The methodology of the in-depth individual accident analysis employed here was aimed at documenting as many as possible of the data relating to a traffic accident (approximately 2500 data per case), with the object of forming a data bank for the analysis of problem areas.
