Samenvatting

Ouagadougou, the capital of Bourkina Fassa, distinguishes itself from other African capitals by the preponderance of two wheeled motor vehicles. Therefore, this city is named "the two wheeled vehicle capital". On one side, the use of two wheeled vehicles is not recent, already in 1976 their part in traffic was 70%. On the other side, the development of two wheeled vehicles does not foreshadow that of private cars. In any case, the passion of the "Ouagalais" for the private car seems to confirm it. The English title of the paper is: "Ouagadougou, amongst two wheeled vehicles and private cars."
