Samenvatting
A review is given of the literature, covering the most widely used measures of visual conspicuity. These measures are analysed in terms of their usefulness. A proposal is put forward, to use a two-dimensional measure of visual conspicuity, and an extensive experimental research proposal is formulated. Furthermore, a second line of investigation is proposed, in which the research will focus on the concept of "perceptual priority".
