Samenvatting
The Dienst Verkeerskunde of Rijkswaterstaat makes traffic observations and registrations of roads, origin and destination of traffic, behaviour, flow, accidents, intensity and velocity, to improve traffic safety and traffic flow. Traffic signalization systems with that aim will be installed at several points in the Dutch Randstad. With the "local system" and the other two distinguished systems, drivers are warned for traffic congestions and the chance of secondary accidents. The "simple system" additionally aims at reducing the change of primary accidents. The "extended system" additionally at utilizing the available road capacity.
