Samenvatting
A simple formula is given for the distribution of waiting times of pedestrians crossing a road. Parameters in this formula are the proportion of pedestrians being delayed (P) and the average waiting time (W).For the case that road traffic can be assumed to behave according to a Poisson process, and for another case formulae are given expressing P and W in traffic volumes and critical gaps. The latter case relates to the so-called filtered Poisson process, taking into account lane capacity.
