Overtaking in the dark and in daylight.

The ability of drivers to make safe overtakings in daylight and in the dark was studied in a test. A considerable number of drivers made a judgment that in theory would have resulted in a collision with the oncoming vehicle (60 percent in the dark and 74 percent in daylight). Reasons for these errors were found to be mainly the speeds used, age of test persons, driving experience, and power of the engine.
