Samenvatting

A Parliamentary Standing Committee on Road Safety (STAYSAFE) was established in New South Wales in March 1982 to investigate the contribution of alcohol and other drugs to traffic crashes and to consider recommendations for a trial of random breath testing. In September 1982 STAYSAFE recommended such a trial including police operations, media publicity and revised drink-drive penalties. This report summarises survey results and discusses the contribution of police and publicity.
