Samenvatting
In the Dutch National Plan for Traffic Safety 1985 four countermeasures are mentioned with regard to the lack of traffic safety or level crossings. (1) A research into the visibility of red lights at level crossings. (2) The construction of background shields at yellow warning lights. (3) Construction of flashing lights and aural signals and (4) A study into aspects of design of level crossings. Split level junctions are recommended strongly.
