Samenvatting
After the introduction of the woonerf-principle in a lot of municipalities have been considering the implementation of a similar regime for their shopping areas. Until now there has been no legal background, however. The author stresses the positive effects of the winkelerf (shopping precinct) concept, the need for co-ol-cration between traffic engineers and other disciplines like architecture, and the need for an official legal status of the winkelerf.
