Samenvatting
The combined use of private and public means of transport has reached a well- advanced stage. In order to develop P + R even further, and at the same time to avoid mistakes, the basic principles underlying P + R need to be clearly recognized; cities need P + R, car drivers and users of public transit have wishes and make demands to be fulfilled by P +R and transit authorities are in favour of P + R. P + R concepts appropriate to local situations must be developed from these three factors.
