Samenvatting

Consumer expectations increase continually in most areas and this is true of the noise environment whether in the workplace, in public places or in transport. This paper examines work carried out over a short period to achieve improvements of this aspect on the Lynx City Bus and explains the methods used. Axle noise reduction was a high priority and for this a rig measurement system was developed. Substantial body changes were also made with beneficial results and other areas which were investigated included transmission paths and trim effects, and these give pointers for the future. (A)
