Samenvatting
In this paper a method for broadly based public support is described. To get public participation and support for a combined traffic and urban design plan, the authors had experts working together in the start of the process for redesigning the western part of Amsterdam in the year 2032. These scenarios, built by traffic experts and urban designers, were visualized and used in awareness workshops, in which all different groups from society participated. This method of getting public support is compared to other forms of participative decision-making. The conclusions are therefore also twofolded: some are directly taken from the `Pb-City' experience, other conclusions are more generic. (A)
