Samenvatting
The first section of the booklet gives an overall description of pedestrian safety. In view of the limited nature of the available material it is unfortunately impossible to make any immediate suggestions for means of reducing danger to pedestrians. The second section discusses possibilities of increasing pedestrian safety. It briefly gives the results of literature research into the effect of facilities, regulations and initiatives in providing guidance, training, information and publicity campaigns. The third section goes into the scope for research into the effect of urban planning measures.
