Samenvatting

A prospective study was carried out of 195 children for injuries sustained in road accidents. The most common type of accident was the motor-vehicle pedestrian accident (35%). This type frequently resulted in severe injuries, the most common of which was a fractured femur. The injuries were not quite so severe and involved the skull, facial bones and upper extremities more frequently.
