Samenvatting

Gaseous transport fuels, such as LPG and CNG, have marginally penetrated the automotive fuel market over the past decade. A national market study, involving more than 13.000 businesses, undertaken in 1986 highlighted a number of issues that require attention if fuels such as LPG and CNG are to be considered as acceptable alternatives to petrol. This paper presents the results of this survey. It also outlines the marketing issues that need to be addressed if these fuels are to ever have more than a small market.
