Samenvatting

A literature review of driving behaviour on curved road stretches revealed that no good theory exists to explain the way drivers perceive curve characteristics and how they adjust their speed on the basis of these perceived characteristics in the approach zone of the curve. Examination of the theoretical possibilities for visual cues shows that curve radius and curve angle are to important parameters with distinct effects on the dynamic perspective of the curve during approach.
