Samenvatting

During displacement, the whole environment appears to be moving, creating a visual flow. Road intersections are concrete situations in which driving safety depends on the correct perception of the movement of other vehicles. The ability of subjects to detect possible future collisions with vehicles whose path intersects their own is studied. The results show that the perception of moving vehicles is disrupted by the optical flow created by the subject's displacement.
