Perception of a traffic sign and driving speed.

Details are given of a test designed to measure drivers' perception of traffic signs. No significant relation was found between perception and drivers' age, sex, driving or professional status. 53.4% perceived the sign, 46.6% failed to do so. 69% of the drivers perceived the sign when they were alone in their car, only 52% did so if other occupants were inside the vehicle.
