Samenvatting

This paper investigates performance of inter-vehicle networks offering safety driving support. The authors compare performance of carrier sense multiple access (CSMA) based systems with that of our newly developed system based on code division multiple access (CDMA), called multi-carrier multi-code spread aloha (MM-SA) system. The authors also enhance CSMA based systems so that they can improve communication performance. Assuming a realistic accident scenario at an intersection, the authors provide simulation results of MM-SA and CSMA based systems, and show that the proposed MM-SA isthe only scheme which can satisfy the requirements set by the safety driving application.
