Samenvatting
A tutorial exposition of the factors which are involved in the design of automobile radar systems is presented. Using well-known results from signal detection theory, the performance of an automotive radar is related to the important system parameters. In particular, the design of antenna patterns is related to these parameters and the desired system performance.
