A symposium was held in an attempt to gain additional measurement systems now being used and to delineate the abilities as well as the limitations of the evaluating procedures for retaining structures on pile foundations. The papers in this record are from that symposium. They cover earth pressure measurements, end bearing of piles, lateral load tests, and displacement in deep excavations.
