Samenvatting

The past, present, and future of airport performance is considered, based on examination of a series of related projects by the authors. Airport performance measures are important for day-to-day business and operational management, regulatory bodies, government, and other stakeholders such as passengers and airlines. Measurement systems have been forced to develop in response to changing organizational contexts. With pressures for change coming from new ownership patterns, increased commercial focus, regulation, rapid passenger growth, greater concern for the natural environment, and technical innovation, experiences shared and lessons learned that are highlighted in this research will be of interest to academics and practitioners alike.
