Samenvatting

Safety driving competitions were held in a number of Australian states. The strong relation between road performance and experience suggests that the high risk associated with the younger drivers is caused more by lack of experience than from a more aggressive attitude (age and sex) as compared with the elderly driver. It is concluded that properly designed safety trials are a reliable and suitable means in the investigation of driving performance.
