Samenvatting

Risky driving is a major contributing factor in adolescent injuries and deaths, particularly for young males. In the present study, the relationship between personality characteristics and increased crash risk was investigated by comparing scores of high- and low-risk drivers on the Personality Research Form and the Jackson Personality Inventory. The role of personality factors in accident risk is discussed in terms of different theoretical accounts of adolescent risk-taking. (A)
