The car has got an essential place in our behavioural pattern. In a further increase of our welfare the car traffic will make greater demands on the spatial capacity. In spatial planning one should take this into account. Road traffic is an essential instrument to guarantee the individual freedom of choice belonging to the higher welfare. To name the car as an unwanted evil fits not into a well balanced social development.
