Samenvatting
Chronological relationships between the emerging FMVS standard 301 and the research data available to serve as a basis for evaluation of the nature of crash fires and the effectiveness of standards, including several suggested countermeasure strategies which have not yet been adopted into production vehicles, are summarized. An overview of the cost/benefit economics literature prevalent during the decade of the 70's and an analysis of most recent fire literature are also presented.
