The Dutch government aims to stimulate the increased use of the cycle as a means of personal transport. Conditions needed to help achieve this aim providing direct, traffic safe and comfortable cycle tracks, as well as the availability of accessible, user-friendly and theftproof cycle stalling facilities. This publication outlines the considerations of planning, implementing and maintaining a suitable policy on cycle stalls. Invaluable has been the knowledge acquired from practical experience and the expertise of planners.
