Samenvatting
The purpose of the investigation was to provide a human factors analysis of the police patrol vehicle. Anthropometric analyses were conducted of the primary vehicle controls as well as special secondary controls. Comfort variables such as seating and air were also analyzed. A survey questionnaire was administered and data obtained on the frequency of use, importance, and critical incidents related to the special police items in the vehicle. A number of areas were identified where the vehicle was found to be suboptimal and recommendations were made to correct these deficiencies.
