This report presents summaries from the deliverables produced within the Policy work package, as well as an executive summary with recommendations regarding driving licensing policies. Final conclusions and recommendations based on the Policy work package are presented in chapter 1. Chapter 2 gives a brief introduction to the IMMORTAL research programme and the Policy work package. Chapter 3 gives a summary of the deliverable DP4.1: “Vision and perceptual deficiencies as a risk factor in traffic safety“ (Fjerdingen, Jenssen and Lervåg, 2004). The report is based on a workshop held in Trondheim, Norway in May 2003. Chapter 4 gives a summary of deliverable DP4.2: “Fatigue, sleepiness and reduced alertness as risk factors in driving“ (Sagberg, Jackson, Krüger, Muzet and Williams, 2004). The report is based on a workshop held in Oslo, Norway in September 2003. Chapter 5 gives a summary of deliverable DP4.3: “The use and usability of CD 91/439 on driving licensing” (Alvarez, Gómez, Fierro, 2005). The report is based on a workshop held in Valladolid, Spain in June 2004. Chapter 6 gives a summary of deliverable DP4.4: “Cost-benefit analysis on impairment countermeasures” (Wesemann, Vlakveld and Devillers, 2005). The report is based on a workshop held in Brussels, Belgium in September 2004. Chapter 7 gives a summary of deliverable DP2: “Detailed cost-benefit analysis of potential impairment countermeasures” (Vlakveld, Wesemann, Devillers, Elvik and Veisten, 2005).
