Samenvatting
Traffic rules and traffic regulations are considered to be important means of promoting traffic safety. However there are often offences against the rules. Police control is traditionally used to increase observance. Police control can only be effective if a number of conditions are fulfilled. Police control is based on the principles of deterrence. New ways for police control and police surveillance for enforcement are discussed.
