The purpose of the Post-Accident Testing Heuristics (PATH) study was to develop and test procedures that can be used in a driving simulator and that could be used to evaluate the impact of several classes of prescription medications on the driving performance of commercial motor vehicle operators. The main point was to determine whether these procedures could be developed and whether they would demonstrate the issues that can arise under the influence of Triazolam and other prescription and over-the-counter medications.
