A survey was made of 176 high-school students in New South Wales to determine their attitudes, knowledge and behaviours relating to general road safety and driving issues. This report presents the results of the survey and recommendations for a pre-driver education program. The sample showed awareness of the dangers of driving and factors exacerbating these dangers. Views were given on various deterrents to incorrect driving behaviour, including education programs and the effects of peer pressure. (A)
