The objectives of this study has been to investigate the fatalities on the National Crash Severity Study (NCSS) of towaway, passenger car accidents. These are compared with the fatalities on the Fatal Accident Reporting System (FARS) and also with those occupants of NCSS who were not fatally injured. Factors which can influence the accident severity are a.o.: speed, seat locations, age, number of vehicles involved and restraint use.
