A literature survey and experimental study were carried out in which the effects of degradation in steering and wheel suspension on driver-vehicle performance were studied. The results showed that although the driver- vehicle performance was not influenced by the degradation, this was often due to a great deal of compensation for degradation on the part of the drivers.
