Samenvatting

Details are given of a new type of hump design, recently developed by Pirelli and Goodyear, which significantly increases the level of bead retention. A selection of test results is given. The asymmetric hump wheels can be constructed in cast light alloy as well as pressed steel. A study is presented of the distance a fully deflated (but with bead still in position tyre can continue running until the wheel can be changed.
