Samenvatting

The author recalls that children, the elderly and the handicapped are mostly pedestrians, cyclists or passengers of slow-moving vehicles such as perambulators, wheelchairs ect. as they are involved in collisions with high speed vehicles, they are often blamed for the collisions. Examples are given of accidents involving the above three categories of road users. An attempt is made to relate the age of drivers, the length of time they have been holding a driving license with the involvement of drivers in collisions with children and elderly people.
