Samenvatting
Conceptual approaches and priority needs for highway safety are discussed in this paper. The author stated that highway safety can result only from a complex pursuit requiring a distinct knowledge of the interactions between the driver, the vehicle, and the roadway environment. In this context recommendations are made for improving driver behaviour, improved vehicle design, and better highways.
