Samenvatting
A method of determining the probability of arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol is described and applied to a driver with a given B.A.C. who is apprehended by a police officer skilled in the detection of drunken drivers. It was found that the over all probability of arrest while driving with a B.A.C. over 0.10 was about 1 in 200, and that a drunken driver is about 3 times as likely to display erratic driving behaviour as a sober driver.
