Samenvatting
The purpose of this thesis was to show the problem of safety measures which can be solved by the automobile industry. But the problem of accident prevention is not only a problem for the industry. This has to be done in cooperation with the legislator, universities, etc. Main technical problems are (1) the dependency of the driver behaviour; (2) biomechanical limits of the human being and the development of anthropometric dummies; (3) the development of new restraint systems; and (4) the study of human factors with regard to vision, comfort, etc.
