Samenvatting
Starting with a brief review of the internal safety tests in periodical motor vehicle inspections in West Germany, the results of various inquires made by the Road Safety Research Institute TUV are presented. These have shown that defects can appear in the components of the passenger retention system- safety belt, seat and headrest- through wear, damage and improper use.
