Samenvatting

Most of the severe head injuries are sustained in road traffic accidents. The rehabilitation and reintegration of these injured persons are a very long term process and only a relatively short period of this process takes place in a hospital prior to the patient returning home. It is important to make the environment more suitable for the disabled person. Pavement curbs, for example, should be ramped at junctions to make it both easier and safer for disabled users. Improvements should also be made in order to improve the accessibility of trams and buses.
