The dutch government is preparing a modification of article 2 of the traffic regulations, in which the criteria are given which the road administrator can use in taking traffic measures. Care for the environment will be included as a new criterion. One of the starting-points of the modification is that care for the environment should not be a burden on traffic safety. In this report a procedure is presented for forecasting the effects of those traffic measures on traffic safety. Two examples of the procedure are shown. See also IRRD 290170.
