Samenvatting
The paper examines the accident causes of novice drivers, in a three-year project, based on a sample of 2200 accident cases from Midland police forces for drivers aged 17-25. Types of accidents studied include right-turn, rear end, loss of control and night-time accidents. Issues to emerge from the analysis include age and gender differences as contributory factors, techniques for inducing exposure measures and an examination of driver attitudes.
