The World Road Association (PIARC) operates according to four-year cycles leading to the World Road Congresses. This document describes the work programme of PIARC Technical Committees for the 2000-2003 period between the 21st World Road Congress in Kuala Lumpur (1999) and the 22nd World Road Congress to be held in Durban, South Africa, 19-25 October 2003. The drafting of this programme was undertaking after consulting the PIARC member countries, National Committees and members of Technical Committees in early January 2000 before this final version was developed by the Committees themselves. This programme was developed in line with the general goals set out in the PIARC Strategic Plan. It is the backbone of the technical activities of the Association for the current period. (A)
