Samenvatting

A clinical procedure initially developed for neuropsychologican research to examine memory disorders in patients with frontal-lobe brain damage was used to study the relationship between memory functioning and the age variable. A hypothesis which proposes that older adults fail to suppress responses which are no longer appropriate to the task demands was tested. The results clearly indicated that inappropriate responding was unaffected by adult age differences, thereby not substantiating the hypothesis
