Samenvatting

Conclusions from a study of 96 motorcycle accidents are: (1) motorcycle and moped riders who have been involved in accidents are often young and inexperienced; and (2) full face helmets provide protection against head and facial injuries. A reduction in helmet weight and further improvement of the shock-absorbing ability are of principal interest in further development.
