This British Standard applies to helmets for wear by riders, drivers and passengers of motor vehicles, including participants in competitive events. Requirements and the corresponding methods of test are given for (1) areas to be protected; (2) shock absorption properties; (3) penetration resistance; (4) strenght of the retention system; and (5) flammability.
